Cold

Molly is frustrated with me. We haven't walked in a week. The temps are 17, 24, and 30. That's during the day! Molly can't stand this cold weather! When she goes outside to go potty she shivers even when she has her sweater on. She does her business and runs quickly to get in the house. When the temps hit 50 we will start to walk again.

Today Molly has spent the day on Jonathan's bed with him. Jonathan has a rare muscle disease and sometimes his legs don't support his weight. He uses a wheelchair when he goes out somewhere, at home he rests in bed all day and we bring his meals and snacks to him. He is usually sad or frustrated when his legs don't work quite right. Jonathan does very well now that we have Molly, she will not leave his side except to go potty. She pushes herself as close as she can get to him. She will not move for hours. She has spent as long as 12 hours on his bed with him. We took her plate of food and sat it on Jonathan's bed so she could eat and then she wanted more food from Jonathan's plate. Sometimes I think she is as much as Jonathan's dog as she is mine. She is very clingy to both of us. It is amazing how she makes Jonathan feel better during this time.
