Sometimes Molly can be so stubborn! We have a huge backyard and you really have to cupp your hands and yell to get Molly's attention. I personally think she has selective hearing. You can call and call and call her name but she never looks up at you! She loves the outdoors and sniffs everything! I usually allow her to stay outside for fifteen to twenty minutes. Then I am ready to go in.To get Molly in the house you had to put yourself on her level and think like Molly. If you were Molly what would make you come in the house? I tried using her favorite toys but that was not successful! So I was back to thinking like Molly. FOOD! Molly loves her food! I have this box of treats that are her favorites. When fifteen minutes were up I screamed Molly's name which she ignored and then I shook the box of treats vigorously! Her cute little self froze and she was transfixed by the sound of the treat box!
Suddenly she is racing across the yard as if being chased by Dewd, excited, happy to be getting a treat first thing in the morning. She marched herself right in the house and sat to wait for her treat! I gave her two! Now when I need to get back to cooking supper or first thing in the morning when I am freezing I just shake the box and without calling her name she is there. What a good girl! I praise her every time!
